Padel Level Guide

Not sure which session is right for you? Use the guide below to find the level that best matches your game.

Beginner

For new players or those with little experience who are learning to rally.

Playtomic guide*: N/A

Improver

This session is for players who have learned the basics and are starting to play points. You don't need to be highly consistent yet — the aim is to build confidence and develop your game.

You should be able to:

  • Rally from the back of the court
  • Understand the rules

Playtomic guide*: N/A

Lower Intermediate

You're comfortable playing points and have a good understanding of the basics. You're looking to play with more consistency and develop your game.

You should be able to:

  • Rally consistently from the back
  • Serve and return confidently
  • Use the walls in points

Playtomic guide*: 1.5–2.5

Intermediate

You regularly play competitive points and want to improve through match play. You've developed good consistency and are now looking to become more tactical and make better decisions during points.

You should be able to:

  • Keep rallies going under pressure
  • Play confidently off the walls
  • Use attacking and defensive tactics
  • Understand when to move forward

Playtomic guide*: 2–3.2

Intermediate Plus

You're an experienced player who is comfortable in competitive matches and looking for a higher level of play.

You should be able to:

  • Maintain consistent rallies under pressure
  • Use walls effectively under pressure
  • Use a wider range of shots and tactics
  • Transition confidently from defence to attack
  • Understand positioning and movement as a pair
